Beyond the Red Buses

London is a sprawling masterpiece of history and innovation. Whether you have 24 hours or a full week, planning your time efficiently is the difference between a tourist trap and a true London experience.

"London's layout can be confusing for first-timers. Our AI London Travel Planner groups attractions by neighborhood, minimizing travel time on the Underground."

Westminster

Iconic & Historic

The heart of royal and political London. Think Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.

Soho & West End

Vibrant & Artsy

Neon lights, theaters, and infinite dining options. The pulse of London's energy.

Shoreditch

Trendy & Creative

Street art, vintage markets, and some of the world's best cocktail bars.

South Bank

Cultural & Scenic

Strolling along the Thames past the Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern.

The London Bucket List

01Tower of London

A historic castle, fortress, and palace. See the Crown Jewels and meet the Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters).

02The British Museum

Dedicated to human history, art, and culture. Pro tip: It's completely free, but you should book a time slot in advance.

03Sky Garden

London's highest public garden with panoramic views of the city. Free entry but booking is essential 3 weeks out.

04Camden Market

For the alternative vibe. Street food, vintage clothes, and live music near the famous lock.

Plan London by Neighbourhood

London is big, and crossing it twice a day eats your time. Group each day around one area: Westminster and the South Bank, the City and the East End, South Kensington's museums, then a slower day in Greenwich or Notting Hill. Shoulder months (May to June, September to October) bring milder weather and smaller crowds than July and August.

3 days: the essentials

  1. Day 1, Westminster and the South Bank: Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, a walk over Westminster Bridge, the London Eye, dinner at Borough Market.
  2. Day 2, the City and East End: Tower of London, Tower Bridge, lunch in Shoreditch, a street art walk, evening in Spitalfields.
  3. Day 3, museums and parks: British Museum in the morning, Covent Garden for lunch, Hyde Park and Kensington in the afternoon.

5 days: a slower pace

  1. Day 1: arrive, easy South Bank walk, dinner in Soho.
  2. Day 2, royal London: Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, St James's Park, Mayfair.
  3. Day 3, museums: V&A, Natural History Museum or British Museum, dinner in Kensington.
  4. Day 4, East London: Shoreditch, Brick Lane, Spitalfields, Columbia Road Flower Market on a Sunday.
  5. Day 5, Greenwich: Thames Clipper to Greenwich and the Royal Observatory, back to town for a last lunch.

Beyond the big sights

Shoreditch for street art and Brick Lane curries, Notting Hill and Portobello Road Market, the canals of Little Venice, and Kew Gardens. For food, markets such as Maltby Street and the restaurants of Soho beat the Leicester Square tourist strip.

Rough daily budget

Budget: about £80 to £120 a day (hostels, buses and the Tube, free museums, casual food). Mid-range: £200 to £350 (3 to 4 star hotels, sit-down meals). Premium: £500 and up. Flights and the UK visit visa are extra; with kids, the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and London Transport Museum are easy wins.

Navigating the Underground

The "Tube" is your best friend. Use contactless payment (phone or card) for the best daily rates. Avoid travel during 8am-9am if possible!

Absolutely. London is one of the safest major cities globally. Stick to well-lit areas at night and use licensed black cabs or ride-sharing apps.

Seasonal Tips
