First Europe trip together and Austria set the bar very high. Salzburg's old town and Mirabell Gardens felt like walking through a fairy tale, Vienna's grandeur at Schonbrunn Palace was almost overwhelming in scale, and by the time we reached Innsbruck we were ready for the slower alpine pace. The Hafelekar cable car ride on a clear evening gave us one of the best sunset views either of us has ever seen. Seven nights felt just right, not rushed at all.
Hafelekar Mountain views alone justify the premium price tag, absolutely stunning for a couple's trip.
The itinerary is lovely, but we'd have swapped a Vienna night for one more in Innsbruck. We rushed off just as we'd settled into the alpine calm, and the final morning went entirely on packing. Everything else was spot on.
