Best of Georgia with Kazbegi and Kakheti

Arrive at the airport in Georgia, where private transport brings you into Tbilisi. Set out on a relaxed walking exploration through the Old Town, viewing traditional wooden balconies along with medieval, Art Nouveau, and Soviet architecture. Visit Narikala Fortress for elevated vistas across the city. Later, walk along lively Rustaveli Avenue or choose to dine on authentic Georgian food at a local restaurant. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Have breakfast, then travel along the scenic Georgian Military Highway into the Caucasus Mountains. Stop at the medieval Ananuri Fortress overlooking the turquoise Zhinvali Reservoir. Continue past Gudauri to visit the Soviet-era Friendship Monument for panoramic mountain scenes. Continue to Telavi to wander the regional wine capital before driving back to Tbilisi for your overnight stay.

Begin the day with breakfast before journeying into central Georgia. Explore Uplistsikhe Cave Town, an ancient rock-cut settlement featuring dwellings, tunnels, and halls from the early Iron Age. Proceed to Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, with an optional visit to the Stalin Museum. Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Mtskheta to visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and hilltop Jvari Monastery above the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. Return to Tbilisi for overnight.
