Darjeeling, Pelling and Ravangla Hill Journey

Arrive at Bagdogra Airport where a representative meets you. Set out on a 72 km drive ascending from the plains into the hills, passing through lush forests and tea gardens. You make a brief stop at Kurseong to enjoy tea before continuing up to Darjeeling. Check into your hotel and take the rest of the day at leisure. You may relax in your room or take a stroll outside, perhaps visiting Glenary's for pastries and Darjeeling tea. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Start early at 04:00 AM for Tiger Hill to watch the sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Continue to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, known for rare Himalayan wildlife. Head to the Tibetan Refugee Centre to see artisans weaving carpets and making woollen handicrafts. Enjoy breakfast, then board the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway toy train for a heritage ride through the hills. Take a ride on the Darjeeling Ropeway, viewing sprawling tea plantations, forests, and the Rangeet River from above. Visit Batasia Loop, a spiral mountain railway line offering wide mountain views and housing the Gorkha War Memorial. Conclude the morning tour at Ghoom Monastery, also known as Yiga Choeling Monastery, where a 15-foot statue of Maitreya Buddha is enshrined. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Have breakfast at your hotel before checking out and driving into West Sikkim to Pelling. The drive presents scenic views across Sikkim's varied mountain landscape. In Pelling, head to the complex housing the 137-foot Giant Buddha Statue of Pelling, also known as the Chenrezig Statue. Right beside the statue, step out onto India's first glass skywalk, a transparent cliffside bridge looking down into the valley floor. Later, enjoy dinner and settle into your stay in Pelling.

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Ravangla in South Sikkim, travelling past verdant forested hills. On arrival in Ravangla, check into your accommodation, Ravangla Buddha Retreat, and take time to freshen up. In the evening, visit Ravangla Buddha Park, also known as Tathagata Tsal. Walk the pathways and gardens around the 130-foot statue of Gautama Buddha, viewing the monument lit up against the evening sky. Enjoy dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in Ravangla.

Have an early breakfast, check out from your hotel, and begin your downhill drive towards the plains. Enjoy the final views of the hills as you head to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. You are dropped off for your flight or train onward journey.
