Vieux Nice's little streets were perfect for an evening family stroll, our daughter loved spotting all the colourful buildings.
Took my parents and our two kids on this trip and it worked beautifully for a mixed age group, the flower market mornings were leisurely enough for grandma, the promenade gave the kids space to run around, and Vieux Nice in the evenings had enough charm and gelato stops to keep everyone happy, only wish we had budgeted one more day to slow down even further.
Nice packs a lot into a small, walkable space, which with children is a gift. We barely touched a taxi, the flower market, promenade and old town all sit close together, and the grandparents kept up with everyone the whole time.
Restaurants right around the main promenade were quite expensive for what we got, we found better and cheaper food a short walk into Vieux Nice.
