Two full weeks in a single city felt unusual when we booked this, but Tbilisi has layers we never expected to find in one place. Jvari Monastery at the river confluence is the kind of view that photographs never quite capture. The wine tasting connected us to eight thousand years of history in a single afternoon. The cooking class where we made our own khachapuri together was pure fun, not the polished tourist activity we had braced for.
Sulfur baths in Tbilisi turned into our favourite evening of the whole honeymoon, warm mineral water and complete quiet after a day of sightseeing.
Trip itself was romantic and slow paced which we wanted, but one of the day tours included a longer stop at a souvenir shop than felt necessary, with the driver clearly nudging us to buy something. Jvari Monastery and the wine tasting were the real reason to come though, and they did not disappoint.
Standard tier pricing but the experience felt far above that, especially the private sulfur bath session. Only wish the itinerary spread a couple more day trips beyond just David Gareja.
A beautiful two weeks, though I do wish the package had spread more day trips beyond just David Gareja.
David Gareja cave monasteries feel like another planet, go for sunrise if you can.
