Solid adventure and culture mix for a couple wanting something different from the usual Europe route. The sulphur bath experience felt a bit rushed for what we paid, would have liked more time to just soak.
The private sulphur bath in Tbilisi was the most relaxed my husband and I have felt in years.
We loved that this trip did not make us choose between mountains and sea. The confluence at Mtskheta, that long relaxing rail journey, then walking the Batumi seafront hand in hand at dusk. Great value for the range of it.
A lovely mix of city, culture and coast for a couple who want variety in one trip. Tbilisi gave us the old-town romance and the sulphur baths, Batumi gave us the sea breeze and the evening strolls, and six nights split nicely between the two.
The train ride from Tbilisi to Batumi was worth the six nights on its own. Watching the landscape shift from mountains to Black Sea coastline out the window, coffee in hand, was oddly romantic, and the evenings on Batumi Boulevard with the Dancing Fountains were the sweetest way to wind down.
