Such a well thought out route for families, Rothenburg ob der Tauber's medieval lanes were a hit with our kids who kept pretending to be knights and princesses the whole walk.
Rain washed out our plans for a proper outdoor Cologne Cathedral visit on the day we arrived, ended up doing a rushed indoor version instead. The rest of the trip weathered fine and the kids still talk about Neuschwanstein, so overall we are not too disappointed, just unlucky with that one day.
Absolutely worth every rupee spent, the Glockenspiel performance at Marienplatz had our children mesmerised and Neuschwanstein Castle afterward felt like stepping into their favourite storybook.

Fine itinerary, but the Berlin to Munich train ran late with no announcement and we lost the evening we'd set aside for a first wander round Marienplatz.
We travel a lot as a family, but rarely does a route flow this well. Berlin gave the kids the wall and Checkpoint Charlie, Munich gave them the Marienplatz Glockenspiel, and Neuschwanstein at the end had my daughter certain a princess still lived inside.
