Gwalior to Khajuraho with Ram Raja Temple

Arrive in Gwalior, meet your driver, and begin a half-day sightseeing tour. Head up to Gwalior Fort on its sandstone hill for panoramic city views. Explore Man Singh Palace with its Rajput architecture and blue-tiled exterior, followed by the stone carvings of the Sas Bahu Temples and the Indo-Aryan and Dravidian blend at Teli Ka Mandir. If time permits, visit the royal collection inside Gujari Mahal Museum. In the afternoon, take a 120 km drive to Orchha and check into your hotel.

Have breakfast at your hotel before setting out on a full-day tour of Orchha by the Betwa River. Start with the painted murals and symmetrical design of Raja Mahal, then visit Jahangir Mahal, built to commemorate Emperor Jahangir's arrival. Proceed to Ram Raja Temple, where Lord Ram is worshipped as a king. View the riverside Chhatris and explore Laxmi Narayan Temple, known for its unique blend of fort and temple design with ancient frescoes. In the evening, stroll along the river or wander through the local market before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, depart Orchha and drive through the countryside and forest landscapes of rural Madhya Pradesh toward Panna. Arrive and check into your lodge or resort, where you can unwind or set off on a short walk nearby. If time allows, take an excursion to Pandav Falls, a forested waterfall linked to the Mahabharata. Spend your evening taking in the natural surroundings along the Ken River, which flows through the national park. Dinner is included tonight at your accommodation.

Rise early for a morning jeep safari across Panna National Park. Travel through dense teak forests, grasslands, and riverine terrain to look for wildlife including tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and various bird species. Return for breakfast at your stay before driving to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Khajuraho. Check in at your hotel, and spend the remaining evening relaxing at your leisure or browsing the local market for handcrafted stone sculptures and souvenirs.

Have breakfast and begin a half-day heritage tour of the Chandela dynasty temples in Khajuraho. Visit the active Matangeshwar Temple, followed by the soaring spires of Kandariya Mahadev Temple and the detailed relief sculptures of Lakshmana Temple. Continue to Adinath Temple in the Jain group, as well as Javari Temple and Chaturbhuj Temple. Once your heritage sightseeing is complete, transfer to Khajuraho Airport or Khajuraho Railway Station for your onward journey.
