Gwalior to Khajuraho with Jai Vilas Palace

Arrive at Gwalior airport or railway station and transfer to your hotel. After settling in, head out to explore Gwalior Fort set high on a sandstone hill. Visit Man Singh Palace with its distinct blue-tiled exterior and Rajput design. Continue to the expansive Jai Vilas Palace to view royal artefacts and a grand chandelier. If time allows, browse the local market for street snacks and handicrafts. Return to your hotel in Gwalior for the night.

Have breakfast at your hotel before embarking on a drive of around three and a half hours across the rural countryside to Orchha along the Betwa River. After checking in, visit the grand Raja Mahal to see its murals and symmetry, followed by Jahangir Mahal. Proceed to Ram Raja Temple, where Rama is worshipped as a monarch. Travel through teak forests, riverine zones, and open grasslands, keeping watch for Royal Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and forest birds. Return for breakfast before continuing your journey by road to Khajuraho. Check in to your hotel and spend the evening wandering through local markets offering handcrafted stone sculptures and regional souvenirs. Overnight in Khajuraho.

Begin your day with breakfast, then attend morning aarti at Matangeshwar Temple, an active place of worship.
