Golconda Fort was impressive but quite crowded with tour groups when we visited, hard to get quiet couple moments at the top. The Ramoji hotel dinner redeemed the day with genuinely good food and a peaceful setting.
Three nights was exactly right for us as newlyweds. Golconda at dusk delivered the romantic, ruined-fort backdrop we wanted, and staying inside Ramoji meant no back-and-forth, just film sets by day and a candlelit dinner at night. We came home feeling we'd fit a proper holiday into a long weekend.
Ramoji is enormous and you walk all day, so wear proper shoes, but there was always another set or show around the corner. My husband loved the sprawling film-city gardens, I loved pretending to be in a Bollywood scene, so we both came away happy.
