Jaisalmer and Thar Desert Discovery

Arrive at Jaisalmer Airport, where you meet your transfer to the hotel. After checking in, take time to unpack, relax, and settle into the city. Later in the afternoon, drive to Gadisar Lake for a peaceful sunset boat ride, viewing the water and the surrounding temples as the light fades. Afterwards, return towards your hotel area where you can explore the local market at leisure for souvenirs and have dinner. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

Begin your day with breakfast, then set off on a heritage tour of Jaisalmer. Visit the living Jaisalmer Fort, where residents still reside amidst centuries-old alleys, shops, and temples. Continue to Patwon Ki Haveli to observe the detailed sandstone facades and mirror work across five merchant mansions. Later, visit the Jaisalmer War Museum to see military exhibits honoring desert battles, and stop at the Thar Heritage Museum. In the evening, watch the sunset from the cenotaphs of Vyas Chhatri, followed by an included traditional Rajasthani dinner at a specialty restaurant.

Have breakfast before taking a scenic drive from Jaisalmer to the Sam Sand Dunes. Watch the terrain transition into pure desert sand. In the afternoon, set out across the rolling sands on an exciting jeep safari. As the sun sets over the dunes, check into your desert camp. In the evening, gather under the starlit sky for traditional Rajasthani folk music and dance performances. Dinner and overnight at the desert camp.

Wake early to witness the desert sunrise over the dunes. Enjoy a relaxed brunch at the camp before packing your bags and checking out. Travel towards the international border to visit Tanot Mata Temple, an important pilgrimage site celebrated for surviving shelling during the 1971 war. Continue to the Longewala War Memorial, the site of the 1971 desert battle, displaying military terrain and captured tanks. Drive back to Jaisalmer, where you have free time to browse local markets for textiles, handicrafts, and jewellery.

After breakfast, embark on a day excursion to the untouched Loonar Sand Dunes. Take in the quiet landscape where very few footprints reach. Enjoy a warm local welcome followed by an adventurous jeep safari traversing the remote desert terrain. Sit down with locals for an authentic Rajasthani lunch prepared in the desert setting. Later in the day, drive back to Jaisalmer for an evening at leisure and your overnight stay.

Enjoy breakfast before completing your check-out. Board your vehicle for the drive towards Jodhpur City. You will be dropped off at Jodhpur Airport for your scheduled flight home, concluding your journey across western Rajasthan.
