Eat breakfast, then depart the hill country for the southwest coast. Stop to visit a Kosgoda-area turtle hatchery and take a boat safari along the Madu River, stopping at a small island temple along the waterways. Arrive in Bentota to relax on the beach, or opt for water sports such as jet skiing, snorkelling or banana boat rides at extra cost. Dinner and overnight are in Bentota.

Start with breakfast before heading south on a day excursion. Explore historic Galle Fort and visit the Japanese Peace Pagoda overlooking the sea. Continue to Hikkaduwa Coral Garden, where you can observe marine life and reef formations by snorkelling or from a glass-bottom boat, both optional at extra cost. Reef sightings cannot be guaranteed. Spend the late afternoon relaxing on Hikkaduwa Beach through sunset before returning to Bentota for dinner.
