Kaziranga and Meghalaya Exploration

Start your day with breakfast before your scenic journey begins from Guwahati towards Kaziranga. On your way, stop to admire the calm waters of Umiam Lake. Drive onward through Assam's countryside to reach your stay in Kaziranga and unwind. Later, visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park to see regional and exotic orchid species. In the evening, watch energetic Assamese cultural performances including the traditional Bamboo Dance and the graceful Butterfly Dance. Dinner is included at your stay.

Head out on an early morning jeep safari through Kaziranga National Park to search for the Great One-Horned Rhinoceros, wild water buffalo, elephants, and diverse birdlife. Return to your stay for breakfast, check out, and begin the drive to Shillong, stopping for viewpoints along the road if time permits. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Spend your evening exploring the lively streets and stalls of Police Bazar, picking up local crafts or tasting regional street food. Dinner is included tonight.

Begin the day taking in views from Shillong Peak, followed by a visit to the cascading three-tiered Elephant Falls set among pine trees. Continue onwards to Laitlum Canyon to look out across sweeping mist-covered hills and gorges. Take a guided walking tour through the ancient Mawphlang Sacred Forest with a local Khasi guide to learn about traditional preservation customs. Return to Shillong for lunch and explore the bustling stalls of Police Bazar or Bara Bazar. Optional visits include Don Bosco Museum, Ward's Lake or Lady Hydari Park.

After breakfast, drive south towards Krang Suri Waterfall, celebrated for its turquoise pool where you can take a walk to the base or enjoy an optional swim. If time allows, make a quick stop at the natural cascade of Phe Phe Waterfalls. Continue to Dawki on the border and step aboard a boat on the Umngot River, known for waters so transparent the boats appear suspended in air. Catch views of the nearby border checkpoint before driving to Mawlynnong village for your evening stay and dinner.

Spend your morning walking the clean floral lanes of Mawlynnong, observing sustainable Khasi village traditions and perhaps ascending the bamboo Sky Viewpoint for views across Bangladesh. Take a short walk in neighbouring Riwai village to cross the Single Living Root Bridge grown from rubber tree roots over decades. Drive onwards through the hills to Cherrapunji. Arrive in time to watch the sunset at the Seven Sisters Falls viewpoint before checking into your hotel to relax and enjoy dinner.

Dedicate the day to Cherrapunji's geological wonders, beginning with Arwah Cave along a quiet forested path where you can spot ancient limestone fossils. Next, explore Mawsmai Cave, walking through illuminated pathways showcasing stalagmites and stalactites. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the viewpoint for Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest plunge waterfall, dropping 340 metres into a green plunge basin. Conclude your day walking past streams, natural pools and rock chambers at the Garden of Caves in Laitmawsiang.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before completing check-out. Drive north from Cherrapunji back towards Guwahati. Your private transfer will drop you at Guwahati Airport for your onward flight, concluding your journey across Assam and Meghalaya.
