Kodachadri peak stands at an altitude of 1343 metres inside the Mookambika forest of Shimoga district in Karnataka. Your journey begins at Kollur with a drive to Karekatte village, the base for your trek through the dense Western Ghats forest.
You hike up to the local guest house, visit Shankaracharya temple, and reach the peak for sunset. Following a morning visit to the sunrise point, you descend along the same forest trail to Karekatte and return to Kollur.

Report at Kollur bus stand at 9:00 am. You take a 1 hour drive to Karekatte village. After a short break, begin your 6-kilometre trek through the thick Western Ghats forest to the local guest house, which takes around 3 to 4 hours. Once you arrive at the guest house, explore the Shankaracharya temple and continue upward to the peak to catch the sunset. Lunch and dinner are included today. In the evening, enjoy dinner and stargazing before an overnight stay at the guest house.

Wake early in the morning and head to the sunrise point to take in views of the mountains. Return for breakfast, then start descending along the same route back towards Karekatte village. The downward trek takes about 1 to 2 hours. From Karekatte, drive back to Kollur, where your trip concludes.
