Barely two nights felt short given how much there was to love about this island. From the resort's own quiet corners to the boat ride through the geoforest park, everything about this trip said slow down and breathe.

Nothing beat the sunset dinner by the ocean on our second evening here. The colours in the sky that night were something neither of us will forget.

Anniversary trip to Langkawi turned out better than we planned it on paper. The resort felt private and quiet, the kind of place where you actually talk to each other instead of scrolling phones. Cruising through Kilim's mangroves and spotting sea eagles up close was a genuine thrill for my wife who loves birds. Only small hiccup was our pickup for the boat tour ran nearly forty minutes late, though the crew apologised and the tour itself made up for it.

Prices at the resort's own restaurant were quite steep for what was served, we ended up paying far more than expected for simple meals near the property. The actual experiences like the mangrove cruise and the lake swim were wonderful though, so it balances out somewhat.

Resort arrival felt like stepping into a postcard, exactly what we needed after a hectic year.
