Meghalaya and Kaziranga Adventure

Meet your driver upon arrival in Guwahati and transfer to your hotel. Later, drive up Nilachal Hill to visit the ancient Kamakhya Temple, an important Shakti Peetha overlooking Guwahati city and the Brahmaputra River. In the evening, sample regional dishes such as Khar and Masor Tenga at a local restaurant or hotel dining room, and if time permits, explore the stalls of Fancy Bazaar before resting.

Have breakfast at your hotel, complete check-out, and begin the drive into the hills of Meghalaya toward Cherrapunji. You will journey past pine forests and winding mountain roads, with optional photo stops along Umiam Lake or Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint, pausing for a regional lunch en route. Upon arriving in Cherrapunji, check in to your stay. In the evening, travel to the Seven Sisters Falls viewpoint to watch the sunset cast golden light over the waterfalls and misty gorges.

Spend a full day exploring the limestone landscapes and deep falls around Cherrapunji after breakfast. Start on the quiet forest path leading to Arwah Cave to view its wide chambers and preserved fossil prints. Continue to Mawsmai Cave to navigate its lit limestone corridors, stalactites, and stalagmites. Following a lunch break in town, visit NohKaLikai Falls, where water plunges 340 metres down a sheer cliff into a green gorge, and take in views of the Seven Sisters Waterfall.

After breakfast and check-out, travel to the starting point of the Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek. Undertake the round trip trek across bamboo walkways and ladders clinging to the rock face, crossing rivers and ravines to reach the viewpoint facing the dramatic stone pinnacle known as the King of Stones. After completing the walk and stopping for lunch, drive onward to Mawlynnong village in the East Khasi Hills. Spend your afternoon wandering the clean cobbled lanes lined with flower gardens and climb the Sky Viewpoint for views of the Bangladesh plains.

Enjoy breakfast, then embark on the drive to Dawki near the border. Board a boat on the transparent waters of the Umngot River, passing through steep gorges where boats cast clear shadows on the river bed below. Look toward the nearby India-Bangladesh border before returning to explore more of Mawlynnong. Later, take a short walk to the nearby village of Riwai to see the Single Living Root Bridge, crafted by local communities guiding rubber tree roots across the stream.

Check out following breakfast and head toward Shillong. Make a stop at Krangshuri Waterfall to admire its bright turquoise pool, where you can take a walk to the water and enjoy a swim. If time permits, divert for a short hike to Phe Phe Falls. Resume your drive across the plateau to Laitlum Canyon for broad views of deep valleys and sheer gorges. In the evening, reach Shillong, check in to your hotel, and wander through Police Bazaar for regional street food and local crafts.

After breakfast, start your tour at Shillong Peak, the highest vantage point in the city at 1,965 metres. Next, descend the stone steps beside three distinct tiers at Elephant Falls. Head north to Umiam Lake to relax along the shore or choose optional paddle boating and kayaking. In the afternoon, return to Shillong for lunch and explore Bara Bazaar or Police Bazaar to shop for Khasi textiles, bamboo items, and spices. If schedule permits, visit Don Bosco Museum, Ward's Lake, or Lady Hydari Park.

Have breakfast and check out from Shillong to journey east to Kaziranga National Park in Assam. The drive winds through valleys and countryside tea plantations. Check in to your jungle lodge or resort, receive a welcome drink, and have lunch. Later in the afternoon, board an open jeep safari accompanied by forest guards and naturalists through the park's grasslands. Keep an eye out for the one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, swamp deer, and waterfowl against the setting sun.

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge before completing check-out formalities. Travel by road back to Guwahati. Depending on your departure timings, make a quick stop at local markets such as Paltan Bazaar or Fancy Bazaar to pick up souvenirs before your driver drops you at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport or Guwahati Railway Station for your journey home.
