Munnar, Ooty mountain railway and Coimbatore

Start early from Coimbatore with a pickup by 05:00 for the scenic drive into the hills of Munnar, taking around four to five hours. Stop for refreshments on the way, then explore the surrounding tea gardens and learn about tea cultivation. Continue to Mattupetty Dam, where a boat ride is optional at extra cost. Take a walk through the bustling local markets to shop for handicrafts and homemade chocolates before checking into your hotel in Ooty for the night.

Check out early after breakfast to experience the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, travelling the route between Mettupalayam and Ooty. Board the heritage train for a scenic journey through the hills, while actual railway operations, seat availability and tickets remain subject to confirmation. Afterwards, travel to Doddabetta Peak to take in panoramic views from the highest point in the Nilgiris. Drive down the mountain roads to Coimbatore, check into your hotel, and spend the evening dining on local cuisine at your own cost. Overnight in Coimbatore.
