Enough time to properly slow down without getting restless, that's exactly what five nights delivered for us. We did the standard boat trip to Crocodile Island in the morning, lazed on the main beach through afternoon, and chased sunsets every single evening without fail. Food along the strip is reasonably priced too which surprised us pleasantly. Booking this as a couple package was the smartest travel decision we made this year.
Stepping onto the private beach at our resort on day one set the tone for the whole holiday, we barely wanted to leave the property honestly. Boracay sunsets are not exaggerated at all, they really do look like a painting each evening.
Puka shell beach at Yapak deserves more hype than it gets, so peaceful compared to the main strip. Water was a touch rough for swimming the day we went but walking along collecting shells with my partner was romantic enough on its own.
Yapak Beach genuinely felt like a secret only we knew about, hardly any crowd and the puka shells scattered everywhere were a nice touch for photos. Only complaint is the ride there took longer than expected on bumpy roads, otherwise a lovely quiet counterpoint to the busier main beach.

Crocodile Island snorkelling was hands down the highlight of our five nights in Boracay, the reef right below us was so vivid it barely felt real. My husband is usually the nervous one in water but even he was grinning through his mask. Evenings we just sat on the sand watching that famous sunset turn the sky orange and pink. Loved every bit of this trip, would repeat it in a heartbeat.
