Boat transfer out to Sumilon Island took longer than the itinerary suggested and our younger one got a bit seasick on the way, worth keeping motion sickness tablets handy if travelling with small children. Once there though the sandbar and reef more than made up for the rough ride.
Heritage of Cebu Monument was more interesting than we expected, the detailed sculptures gave us an easy way to walk our kids through the city's past without it feeling like a boring history lesson.

That white strip of sand surrounded by clear blue water is genuinely one of the prettiest things we have seen as a family. Cebu balanced beach time with a bit of history too, which kept my husband happy since he loves that part of any trip.
