Gem shop detour felt unnecessary and pushy for a solo traveller just trying to sightsee, though the temples and markets themselves were great. Wat Arun at sunset saved the day.
Solo city pace here was easy to manage, Grand Palace and the flower market both worth the early starts.
Flower market surprised me most, Pak Klong Talad early morning was one of my favourite stops, so many colours before the city properly woke up. Grand Palace later that day was crowded but still worth it.
Bangkok solo was a joy, but three nights felt a touch tight to fit the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and the flower market without a couple of rushed mornings. I'd give it four next time, though the dawn flower market made every early alarm worthwhile.
Wat Arun turning golden against the sunset from a river boat was my single best memory.
Pak Klong Talad at dawn, all those colours before the city woke, was my favourite stop.
November to February, offering cooler, drier weather perfect for city exploration.
