Grandparents accompanied us and the pace suited everyone, not too rushed. The limestone cliffs at Maya Bay are something photos just cannot do justice, and the family dinners by Ao Nang beach at sunset were the sweetest part of the evenings.

In-laws joined us for this one and even they, not the most adventurous travellers, loved the Phang Nga Bay boat trip. The hongs and hidden caves felt like something out of a movie. Kids were thrilled the moment they saw the resort pool, that excitement set the tone for the whole trip. Maya Bay lived up to the hype despite the crowds. Would book again without hesitation.
We travelled in June against advice and paid for it, two days of rain washed out our beach plans and the boat to Phi Phi got cancelled once. When the sun did come out Ao Nang was lovely, but plan around the weather window properly.
