Planned this as a big family trip with grandparents and two kids and Turkey handled the mixed age group beautifully. Walking through Ephesus with actual marble streets under our feet felt like a living history lesson none of us will forget. Antalya's Kaleici old town gave us relaxed evenings by the harbour after busy sightseeing days. Ankara's solemn Ataturk Mausoleum was a fitting, thoughtful way to end an already rich week.
Kaleici's old town in Antalya is charming to wander through with kids, plenty of small shops and gelato stops along the way. Ankara felt like a bit of a detour after the beach vibes of Antalya but the Ataturk Mausoleum visit was worth including for the history lesson. Kusadasi as the starting point set a relaxed tone for the whole week.
Duden Waterfalls cooled everyone down nicely on a hot Antalya afternoon, the kids loved getting sprayed by the mist. Ephesus needed more shade and water breaks than we planned for with young children in the heat. Overall a solid mix of history and coast for a family holiday.

Moving across Kusadasi, Antalya and Ankara in six nights is a lot for young kids but the variety kept them engaged throughout. Ephesus and Duden Waterfalls were the two standout stops for our family. A day or two more in Antalya alone would have been nice to slow the pace down.
The Ataturk Mausoleum in Ankara was far grander and more moving than any of us expected walking in, and it gave the children a proper history lesson to finish on. A fitting, solemn close after all the beach days.
