Climbing to the summit of Story Bridge as a family was more thrilling than any of us anticipated, our teenager who claims to be too cool for family activities was genuinely impressed. The evening river cruise afterward with the skyline lighting up was such a calm contrast. CityCat ride the next morning felt like a proper local experience rather than a tourist thing.
The bridge climb was fantastic but the rest of the itinerary felt a bit thin for three nights, and our hotel check-in took nearly an hour past the promised time which ate into our first evening with tired kids in tow.
Solid short break, the CityCat especially was a hit with the whole family since it doubles as sightseeing and transport.
We travelled with my parents and all three generations found their thing, the grandkids loved the bridge climb, my mum the gentle cruise. Three nights felt just right before anyone tired out.
Kids enjoyed it, but the Story Bridge climb had a minimum age our youngest missed, so a parent sat out with her.
