Vienna's imperial buildings are grand beyond words and Schönbrunn alone needs half a day to do justice. Train connections between the three cities were smooth and comfortable. Only the Salzburg leg felt slightly rushed given how much there is to see there.

Swarovski Crystal Worlds near Innsbruck is far more dazzling than we expected from just photos online. My wife loved every corner of it, we spent almost three hours inside. A lovely surprise addition to what we thought would be a mostly cultural trip.
Three cities in six nights sounds a lot, but the trains between Salzburg, Vienna and Innsbruck were so smooth it never felt like a slog. Each place had its own character, and by Innsbruck we were happy to slow right down with the peaks outside the window.
Hafelekar Mountain gave us the kind of panoramic view that makes you go quiet for a minute, though the cable car queue ate up nearly an hour.
