Mondsee Cathedral detour added a good half day of travel for what turned out to be a fairly brief stop once I arrived. Pretty enough, sure, but the time cost felt excessive relative to what I actually saw. Would have preferred that time back in Salzburg proper instead. Not a dealbreaker, just a scheduling gripe.
Gloriette view over Vienna at golden hour was worth every step of the climb. Best fifteen minutes of the entire trip, hands down.
Austria alone was easier than expected logistically, trains run on time and English gets you through most situations. Only wish I had budgeted an extra day.
