Underrated is the word for Antwerp when it comes to families, the guildhalls around Grote Markt look straight out of a storybook. Six nights was the right length, never felt rushed.
Our in-laws joined us for this one and honestly Antwerp handled a mixed generation group better than we expected. The Grote Markt square is stunning with the guildhalls lit up, and my mother-in-law loved the slower pace compared to Paris or Amsterdam. Kids enjoyed the choose your own day format, my son picked the chocolate museum and my daughter picked a park. Only thing was the hotel breakfast options felt a bit limited by day four.

Antwerp is compact and easy with children, we let the family pick one activity each day and it worked beautifully. Only complaint is the trams get crowded around evening rush hour.
