Promenade des Anglais in Nice was such a relaxed way to ease the kids into the trip before Paris got busier. Marseille's Notre-Dame de la Garde climb was steep for our younger one, needed a few rest stops going up.
Marseille's basilica view over the Mediterranean was stunning for the whole family to see together. Paris leg felt a bit packed for young kids though, lots of walking between sights back to back.
Our two boys, six and nine, still argue over which was better, the Eiffel Tower lighting up at night or the Lyon traboules they insisted on treating as a maze. Ten nights across four cities and neither of them got bored once.
Kids were a bit tired of museums by the time we reached Lyon but the traboules treasure hunt brought their energy right back. Overall a lovely, well paced family trip across four very different French cities.
Traboules of Lyon turned into a proper treasure hunt for our kids, they loved every bit.
