Alone in Tbilisi for six nights turned into exactly the reset I badly needed.
Narikala Fortress at golden hour gave me the best view of the whole trip, the Mtkvari River winding below the whole city. Jvari Monastery the next day was quiet and genuinely moving, worth the short trip out of the city.
Enjoyed most of the trip but one of the walking tours felt rushed through the old town with barely any time at each stop, felt more like a checklist than an experience. Jvari Monastery and the rooftop dinner on my last night salvaged the trip though.
I travel solo often and Tbilisi surprised me more than most cities on my list. Narikala Fortress gives you the whole city in one view, the monastery at Jvari is peaceful in a way few tourist sites manage, and the Dry Bridge Market is genuinely fun to browse even if you do not buy anything. Ended the trip with a rooftop dinner alone, reflecting on six really good days, and honestly did not want to leave.
Travelling alone to Tbilisi felt completely safe and the city rewards slow wandering.
As a solo female traveller I never once felt unsafe walking around Tbilisi even in the evenings. Found a small antique piece at Dry Bridge Market that I still have on my desk.
June, when the weather is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city's charming streets and historical sites.
