Sightseeing was wonderful but we were taken to two separate emporiums that felt like commission stops rather than genuine recommendations. Otherwise the forts and palaces were exactly as promised, Mehrangarh especially.

Six nights felt generous enough that we never once felt like we were racing the clock.
Pink City to Blue City to Lake City, the whole arc just works for a couple. We loved the early, quiet hour at Hawa Mahal before the crowds, but the Udaipur City Palace tour, room after room opening onto the lake, is the one we keep retelling.
Jodhpur sat perfectly in the middle, a breather between Jaipur's energy and Udaipur's romance. The sunset boat glide across Lake Pichola on our last evening, City Palace shimmering behind us, was the finale a couple dreams about.
