Moving from Shimla to Manali to Delhi gave us the loveliest mix, quiet hill-station mornings and busy city nights. The Viceregal Lodge gardens were far more peaceful than a spot with that much history has any right to be.

Loved the pace of this trip, mountains for the first four nights and city buzz in Delhi to close it out. Jakhu Temple monkeys stealing snacks from tourists was an unexpected highlight for both of us. Manali's Solang Valley gave us the perfect quiet afternoon before the trip wound down in Delhi. Would happily recommend this route to any couple wanting hills and city in one go.
