Nine nights across Oslo and Stavanger was the perfect length, never once rushed. Preikestolen was the crown of it, my wife is terrified of heights and she still edged out for a photo on that flat cliff top with the Lysefjord a sheer drop below.
Pulpit Rock was breathtaking but be ready for a proper hike, wear good shoes.
Weather turned on us for two of the days in Stavanger and the Lysefjord views from the boat were mostly fog, which was disappointing given how much we had looked forward to it. Oslo part of the trip was lovely though, the palace and the waterfront walks were genuinely romantic.
Booked this for our tenth anniversary and Norway did not disappoint one bit.
For a couple who would rather hike than shop, this was made for us. The railway between the two cities is a highlight in its own right, non-stop fjords and falls, and Stavanger's old white wooden lanes were a lovely surprise before the big Preikestolen day.
Beautiful throughout, though nine nights meant a couple of slow afternoons in Stavanger with genuinely nothing left to do.
