As a solo woman traveller I felt genuinely safe through both Manila and Boracay legs of this trip.
Boracay's White Beach at first glimpse is one of those travel moments that just stays with you, especially arriving alone with zero itinerary pressure. Spent the first evening just walking the shoreline with no plan at all. Manila before that gave enough culture and history to feel like a complete trip, not just a beach holiday. Five nights was the perfect length travelling solo.
Manila to Boracay leg had a frustrating delay at the domestic terminal, cut nearly half a day out of my beach time. Ended up missing the sunset I'd been looking forward to on the first evening. Once I actually got to the island the whole experience turned around completely. Just something to be mentally prepared for travelling solo on tight timelines.
Peaceful in the morning, San Agustin Church gets swarmed by tour groups come afternoon. Worth timing your visit early if you want the quiet version.
Snorkelling near Crocodile Island was fantastic, only the boat ride out felt a bit rushed with too many people crammed in. Water itself was gorgeous though.
Travelling solo through Fort Santiago's old walls, I actually got goosebumps thinking about the history there. Nice to have that kind of time alone with your thoughts.
