Our first wedding anniversary took us to Switzerland and it delivered beyond expectations. Standing at Kleine Scheidegg with the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau all visible at once was a moment neither of us will forget. Bern's old town gave us a slower first two days before the scenery took over completely. Lucerne in the evenings, walking across Chapel Bridge with the lake glowing, felt like something out of a film. If you're planning a honeymoon in Europe, this route deserves serious consideration.
Scenery was every bit as good as promised but our hotel check-in in Bern took almost two hours due to some booking mix-up, not the smoothest start to a couple's trip. Once that was sorted everything else was lovely.
