Mount Pilatus summit views over Lake Lucerne were spectacular, though the queue for the cable car ate up more of our morning than we planned for. Worth the wait in the end.
Jungfraujoch left my wife in tears, standing at the Top of Europe surrounded by snow in the middle of summer was completely surreal. Kleine Scheidegg on the way up gave us views of the Eiger and Jungfrau together that stopped us mid conversation. Lake Thun's cruise the day before had already set a calm, romantic tone for the whole trip. Chillon Castle and the chocolate tasting at the very end felt like the sweetest possible way to close things out.
Lake Thun cruise was the calm before the mountain adrenaline, a perfect romantic pace for a couple.
Beautiful itinerary overall but the GoldenPass train got delayed on our particular leg and we lost a good chunk of our planned Montreux evening. Everything at Jungfraujoch and Kleine Scheidegg the days before was outstanding though.
Chillon Castle followed by the chocolate tasting at the end made for the sweetest possible close to our Swiss honeymoon. Montreux as a final stop was quieter and more romantic than we expected.
Montreux was romantic but sleepier than we'd bargained for after Interlaken's buzz, the evenings especially were very quiet. Lovely for a wind-down, just know it's the gentle end of the trip rather than a lively one.
