Booked this for our fifth anniversary and mostly it delivered, Lucerne's old town especially charmed us with its painted bridges and quiet corners. Montreux felt a touch touristy near the castle entrance with long queues in peak season. Weather held up nicely through most of the week barring one rainy afternoon in Interlaken. Would still recommend to any couple chasing that alpine romance dream.
Scenery is unbeatable, no argument there, but our second hotel had a very cramped room for what we paid, premium tier or not. Jungfrau excursion also got cut short because of sudden cloud cover so we barely saw the glacier. Still glad we did it once in a lifetime.
My wife cried a little at Chillon Castle, she said it was more beautiful than she imagined from the pictures. The whole week had this dreamy quality to it, alpine air, lake cruises, chocolate everywhere. Worth every rupee we saved up for this trip.
