Views across the whole route are undeniably gorgeous, Chillon Castle especially, but our Montreux hotel room was quite dated for what we paid on this premium tier, and there was very little buffer time built between the Interlaken and Zurich legs which made two of the days feel like a rush.
My fiancé and I did this trip right before our wedding and it set an impossibly high bar for future travel together. Lake Lucerne's cruise with snow capped peaks all around felt like a scene from a postcard neither of us could stop photographing. Reaching Jungfraujoch and standing at what they call the Top of Europe, staring at the Aletsch Glacier, is a memory we still bring up regularly. Chillon Castle's dramatic lakeside setting added a nice historic pause between the more adventurous stops. Zurich's closing boat tour on the lake was a quiet, elegant way to end things.
Lake Lucerne cruise and Chillon Castle were the standouts here, Zurich felt a bit rushed by comparison.
