Doi Inthanon being Thailand's highest point made for a gorgeously cool morning in the cloud forest, a real break from the heat. The Big Buddha viewpoint in Phuket got busy, but the golden-hour view over the coast was worth the crowd.
Temple hopping in Chiang Mai started to feel a little repetitive by the third stop, though Doi Suthep at sunset stood well apart from the rest. Once we reached Phuket the change of pace was exactly what we needed.
A lovely trip, but we'd happily have swapped a Phuket night for one more in Chiang Mai.
Maya Bay lived up to every photo we had seen, swimming there felt surreal.
White Temple's intricate details kept us mesmerised for a good hour, definitely don't rush that stop. Maya Bay later in the trip felt like a completely different world, turquoise water everywhere.
