We keep getting drawn back to Thailand and this itinerary covering three spots was the best version yet. Krabi's calm, Phuket's beaches, and Bangkok's chaos each brought something different to the trip. Perfectly balanced for a couple wanting variety.
Those white sands at Maya Bay really are as soft as every photo suggests. We just stood there for a good ten minutes before even taking a picture. Genuinely one of the prettiest beaches either of us has seen.
Chinatown food walk in Bangkok turned out chaotic, so many stalls and smells competing at once that we honestly didn't know where to start. We ended up eating at the first stall we saw purely out of being overwhelmed, and it wasn't great. A bit more guidance from our host beforehand would have helped a lot. Still glad we experienced the energy of the place despite that one meal.
Krabi's calm, Phuket's beaches, Bangkok's chaos, each brought something different for a couple wanting variety.
Emerald water off Phi Phi, then temples in Bangkok, seven nights that somehow held both.
Wat Arun at sunset by the river was such a peaceful close to a trip that had a lot of movement across three destinations. The colours on the temple catch the light beautifully at that hour. Would recommend timing your visit for exactly that window.
