South Bank dinners were charming though we found the riverside restaurants a bit overpriced for the portions served. Ambience nearly makes up for it, just go in expecting to pay a premium.
Kangaroo Point cliffs were a lovely evening stroll though the wind in July was sharper than expected, glad we layered up. Views across the river were still worth the chill.
River cruise into the city with the skyline lighting up, my wife still talks about that first evening months later. Brisbane isn't the flashiest Australian city but it has a calm, liveable charm that suited us as a couple perfectly. Story Bridge and South Bank filled our days nicely without ever feeling rushed.
Just the two of us for four nights, no kids, no in-laws, exploring a city neither of us knew much about, best decision this year.
