The journey

This five-day trekking adventure takes you from Guwahati into the high ridges of Nagaland. You will journey up to Kohima before heading out to the trail at Zakhama Checkpost. Hike steep mountain tracks, cross over high ridgelines, and enter Dzukou Valley, known for its rolling hills, bamboo brush, and seasonal wild lilies.

From your camp in the valley, make an ascent up Mount Japfu, the second-highest peak in the state at 3,048 metres. After spending two nights camping amid the natural rock formations and streams of the valley, you trek back down toward Kohima and complete your road journey back to Guwahati.
