Standing under Cologne Cathedral, my neck actually hurt from craning upward so long. That's how massive the thing is up close. Photos genuinely don't prepare you for the scale.
Marienplatz's Glockenspiel show is shorter than we expected, maybe ten minutes total. Don't build your whole afternoon around it the way we did. Rest of Munich more than makes up for it though.
