Speedboat ride to Phi Phi got a little choppy for our younger one and she felt queasy for a bit, worth keeping motion sickness tablets handy. The crew were kind about it though and slowed down once they noticed. Once we got to the islands everything was smooth sailing, pun intended, and Maya Bay's clear water made her forget all about the boat ride. Would just pack the tablets next time as a precaution.
Island hopping to Phi Phi and Maya Bay was the adventure part our son wanted, and the pool afternoons were what our daughter wanted, this trip somehow gave both kids what they wanted. Patong street food nights were great for us parents too, plenty of vegetarian options which surprised us.
Patong at night is loud and touristy but the food stalls are genuinely worth braving the crowds for.
Kids didn't want to leave the resort pool, that says it all.
This itinerary struck a lovely balance between adventure days and lazy pool days at the resort, our kids needed both kinds of days honestly. Street food evening in Patong turned into an unplanned favourite memory for the whole family.
