Duden Waterfall spilling straight into the sea is one of the most dramatic sights we have seen anywhere.
Took my parents and kids on this one, three generations, and Antalya handled all of us beautifully. The waterfalls were the standout, both the dramatic sea plunge at Duden and the walk-behind experience upstream. My mother, who does not usually enjoy long walks, managed the old town streets of Kaleici just fine since it is fairly flat. Only the heat in early September caught us off guard a little.
Kaleici was gorgeous, but our room looked straight onto a noisy late-night bar and the kids really struggled to sleep.
My son walked behind the curtain of water at Upper Duden, came out soaked to the skin and declared it the best day of his life.
Antalya turned out to be a lovely surprise destination for us, we had almost skipped Turkey for somewhere more obvious. The final morning by the pool before our flight was the perfect wind down after a busy week of sightseeing.
Our guide insisted on a leather shop stop in Kaleici that felt like a sales pitch dressed up as a cultural visit, and it ate almost ninety minutes out of our afternoon. Everything else about the old town was charming though.
