Our hotel room in Interlaken faced an active construction site and the noise started early most mornings. Disappointing given how expensive this particular leg of the trip already felt compared to the rest. We mentioned it at check-in but were told nothing could be done mid-stay. Everything outside the hotel, though, was exactly as beautiful as advertised.
Interlaken's mountain views were stunning, though the town itself felt very touristy. Prices near the station were on the steeper side for food and snacks.
Never thought I'd stand on an actual glacier with my wife on our anniversary. Jungfraujoch's Ice Palace made that happen and it still doesn't feel real.
Maison Cailler's chocolate tasting near Montreux was such a sweet, unexpected little detour. My partner still brings it up months later.
Bern to Montreux over ten nights for our honeymoon, and Switzerland genuinely lived up to every postcard we'd ever seen growing up. Lucerne's old town, Interlaken's mountain backdrop, and Montreux's lakeside calm each felt completely different from one another. Having the GoldenPass train link the last two cities made the whole trip feel effortless. Worth every bit of the premium price tag for a honeymoon like this.
