Traveling During Ramadan:
Low Prices & Rules

Ramadan is the "hidden shoulder season" of UAE travel. Hotels are cheap, flights are empty, promising massive savings for the savvy traveler.

📉 The Price Drop Phenomenon

Most Muslim residents stop traveling during the Holy Month to spend time with family. Business travel also slows down.

💸 Savings Alert

Tickets to Europe, USA, and UK from Dubai can be 30% cheaper in the first 3 weeks of Ramadan compared to the rest of the year.

🍽️ Rules for Travelers (Eating & Drinking)

On Board: Flights operate as normal. Meals and alcohol are served on Emirates/Etihad.
At The Airport: Food courts at DXB/AUH are fully open. No screens/curtains anymore. You can eat and drink publicly in the terminal.
In The City: Dubai has relaxed rules. Most malls and restaurants serve food during the day. However, eating/drinking/smoking openly on the STREET is still disrespectful and technically fines apply.

🌙 The "Pre-Iftar" Rush Hour

⚠️ Traffic Warning

Every day around 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM (just before sunset/Iftar), traffic in Dubai becomes chaotic as everyone rushes home to break their fast. If your flight is at 8:00 PM, leave very early.
