🥊 The Big Battle: Cebu Pacific vs Emirates
BUDGET KING
Cebu Pacific
- ✅ Price: Very low "Piso Sale" promos.
- ✅ Network: Direct to Manila. Connections to everywhere (Davao, Iloilo).
- ❌ Comfort: Tight legroom. 9 hours is tough.
- ❌ Extras: No TV screens. No free food. Buy water.
COMFORT KING
Emirates
- ✅ Comfort: Good legroom. 3000 movies on ICE.
- ✅ Food: Full hot meals + drinks included.
- ✅ Bags: Generous allowance (usually 30kg+).
- ❌ Price: Can be double the price of Cebu Pac.
🎒 Balikbayan Box Strategy
Pre-purchase Baggage is MANDATORY
On Cebu Pacific, paying for baggage at the airport is financial suicide. It costs AED 60-80 per kg.
Hack: Philippine Airlines (PAL) often allows 2x23kg (46kg total) for free on their standard economy tickets. Check PAL prices before booking Cebu Pacific + 40kg bag.
📍 Alternative Routes
| Route | Best Airline | Why? |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai → Manila | Cebu Pacific / PAL | Most direct options. |
| Dubai → Clark (CRK) | Emirates / Cebu Pacific | Less traffic than Manila NAIA. Great for Northern Luzon. |
| Dubai → Cebu/Davao | Qatar Airways (via Doha) | Qatar flies directly to Cebu/Davao avoiding Manila transfer. |
